Last week we had a meeting with CITIZEN and finally I could have the new robots in my own hands for the first time. They seemed a little heavier than I expected so I became a little concerned about the torque of the motors for the first time. But still should be okay hopefully.
Luckily they implemented all the extra mounting screw holes I requested. Six holes in the front, six in the back, four in the bottom. They also added extra openings I asked for in the top interface board and in the bottom aluminum shape. With all these and with the expansion connector of the top board it should be possible to attach many sensors or any other type of board or devices, passing cables through the robot and so on.
The more interesting part is that they also added extra mounting holes for the motors to be attached in a lower position. This means the robot can be taken apart and re-assembled with the axis of the wheel in the lowest position, allowing the exploration of dynamic balancing behaviors or maybe also adding other devices in the bottom (e.g. recharger, kicking device)

I just made a 30 second video of the robot moving that might be useful for including in embedded in slide presentations. You can
download
or watch in
