Hi all,

recently, BahiaMR bought a lot of new MR bots, and almost all batteries that came are not working - we're not able to charge them, although they're uncharged.
Also, from our older ones, some batteries are starting to bloat.

We'd like to know if any of you had to handle such problems or is having other battery troubles...

Thanks in advance!

Dear All,

Reposting a message from Marco Simões, regarding soccer release (https://sourceforge.net/projects/pv-league/)

------------------------

Dear All,

After many discussions in the list, in the TC and OC, and after the experiences in Iran Open, Japan Open and German Open, some minor changes was made to MR-SoccerServer and other softwares used as infrastructure for MR competition.

The updated package is availalbe at: http://sourceforge.net/projects/pv-league/files/0.4/mr-soccer.tar.gz/download

The main modifications are:

1. Fixed some minor behaviors regarding goal kick and corner kick. Now these playmodes are working according to current rules. Additionlay the Graphics will plot a temporary line when the match is stoped due to a corner kick, so teams and referee will know where they can reposition their robots according to rules.

2. Added a Graphic Operator developed by team MR. This operator provides the same functionality as the old console operator, but the match tends to be more dynamic, once the operator doesn´t need to type commands to start, pause, etc.

3. Kick behavior enhanced. One of the most recurrent demand from teams who participated in Graz was that the distance covered by the ball with one kick was too short. During German Open one simple solution just, fine tuning existing parameters was tested with success. But in some situations, this solution led to strange behaviors. TC worked on that and provided a more robust and realistic solution in this versions This was exhaustively tested by TC.

So, all teams should download this version of software, because this is the entire package that will be used in both fields in Singapore. If any minor bug is detected report it to TC immediately using this mailing list, so it can be fixed before the beggining of the competition.

Best Regards,
Mixed Reality OC, 2010

Dear Teams,

There are some tips and informations that all teams should be careful:

1) Mixed Reality Competition setup will be located in the level 4 at Suntec Singapore International Convention and Exhibition Centre (http://www.suntecsingapore.com/virtualtour/index.htm).

2) Each team will have ONE power outlet and ONE network ethernet cable available. So, if you need to use more than one computer, be careful to take your own switches and power extension cords.

3) Suntec has many options for meals, see the link above for further information.

4) Remember to take all items that can help OC and TC to organize and provide a good, stable and fair competition to all teams. Take your micro-robots (even those you think that are not working fine), battery rechargers, Infrared transmitters, IEEE 1394 cameras, other cameras, and any other item you think that can help in the technical setup.

5) Please take tools like solderin gun, kutter, gripper, etc. They can be necessary to fix robots or other items or to assemble some item we need.

6) Singapore voltage is 220-240 volts AC, 50. So if you are carrying any electrical appliance of a different voltage, be sure to take your own transformers.

7) Visit: http://www.robocup2010.org/location_Singapore.php  for further information about Singapore.

Best Regards,
Mixed Reality OC

Dear All,

The Rules for Mixed Reality Competition at Singapore were updated. Minor changes were made in section five, paragraph "Ball, goal kick and corner kick". This was just to clarify the detailed procedure to be followed by referees and teams during goal kicks and corner kicks.

Please see updated rules at: http://www.robocup2010.org/competition_League.php?c=5&l=13&t=rules

It is very important that all teams read again all the rules document to understand all procedures that are expected from each team in Singapore.

Best Regards,
Marco

Hi,

you're right. I'm pretty sure I've done that.

It is, anyway, a sort of intermittent issue - sometimes, I'm able to communicate with AVR, sometimes not.

Thanks!
